Durban — Two eThekwini municipal garden refuse sites have been temporarily closed because they have reached full capacity.

The municipality advised residents that the Mt Edgecombe and Wyebank garden sites have been temporarily closed as both sites have reached full capacity.

“The Cleansing and Solid Waste Unit (CSW) requests residents to use the Mariannhill and Buffelsdraai landfill sites for their garden refuse disposal in the interim,” the municipality said in a brief statement.

“A process to clear the closed sites is under way. A notice will be issued once the sites are cleared and re-opened for public use,” it said.

The municipality added that if residents needed more information, they can contact the CSW helpline on 031 311 8804.
