South African rapper, Da L.E.S, aka “The North God” is currently recovering at a Johannesburg hospital after suffering a stroke on Friday evening.
As the “Love and Hip Hop South Africa” star recovers, some members of the public are shocked to learn that his close friends have asked to assist the family in raising funds for his medical bills.
As the news makes the rounds on X, formerly known as Twitter, many users are in disbelief that the popular rapper is in need of assistance, especially since he is known to live a lavish lifestyle, hosting his annual All White Party in Bryanston, where expensive designer labels and alcohol flow.
Others have even suggested that Da L.E.S be admitted to a public hospital as he will be able to receive good care.
The rapper’s friends asking for donations has once again sparked the discussion around well-known people asking for donations from fans, despite the lavish lifestyles they portray.

According to Zimoja Da L.E.S's friends said his mom, Priscilla Mampe, would appreciate assistance and the act of kindness in raising funds for his medical bills.
"Hi friends, as support to Leslie's family while Les is in hospital, we are encouraging friends to assist in kind to Leslie's mother's account below," the note said and included her banking details.
