“The Real Housewives of Potomac” season 8 took reality TV drama to exhilarating heights. With fiery confrontations, the show took viewers on an emotional roller-coaster.

Who could forget the explosive fallout between Monique Samuels and Candice Dillard or the drama involving Michael Darby and his infamous missteps?

But that’s old news. Season 9 promises to turn up the heat even more.

It’s clear that the Potomac ladies are far from done shaking things up, with more surprises and high drama to come.

The trailer opens with a big celebration: Dr Wendy Osefo’s 40th birthday bash. But don’t let the balloons and party hats fool you – things take a turn when Wendy brings up the topic of “grudges”.

Without skipping a beat, the group quickly zeroes in on Karen Huger, aka the Grande Dame, herself. Osefo and Huger had a falling out last season, after the Grand Dame reportedly called Osefo “self-absorbed” behind her back.

But that’s just the start of Huger’s rough season. The trailer spills the tea about her car crash, DUI and DWI charges.

“I could have died,” Huger tells the group, but Ashley Darby wastes no time pointing out the obvious – she could have killed someone else too.

In March 2024, Huger, 60, was stopped by “Montgomery County Police” while driving her 2017 Maserati. Court documents reveal she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired.

Huger also faces charges of negligent and reckless driving, accused of endangering lives and property

Of course, it’s not all doom and gloom. Like all the other franchises, the women are going on a trip - this time to Panama. And if there’s one thing we know about RHOP cast trips, it’s that where the women go, drama follows.

Expect a lot more shade, confrontation and fabulous holiday fashion as tension rises under the tropical sun.

Osefo also has some major career moments this season, heading to the White House to meet press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

And while she’s levelling up her professional game, the other housewives are dealing with crumbling marriages, chaotic situations and more relationship drama.

Season 9 will welcome Stacey Rusch, a former QVC (Quality Value Convenience) host, and Keiarna Stewart, an entrepreneur who's no stranger to throwing shade.

While Stewart is trying to forge her own place within the group, she as reservations about some of the women, and from the looks of it, she won’t hesitate to let them know about it.

With the two new housewives stepping into the Potomac chaos, fans can expect plenty of fresh drama – and maybe some new alliances and rivalries.

Gizelle Bryant, the queen of stirring the pot, is dealing with a “situationship” that’s raising eyebrows. Her new bae is not only a fellow Bravolebrity, but he’s also 16 years younger.

It’s giving vibes of Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer from the “Real Housewives of New York City”.

Will the age difference be a deal-breaker or is she simply about to live her best life with her younger man?

As always, expect the unexpected. “The Real Housewives of Potomac” season 9, premières on October 6.
