“The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice” has been trending weekly as the glamorous and wealthy mothers in Durban’s Indian community bring the spice to Mzansi screens.

Produced by POP 24, “The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice” is the first spinoff from the smash hit Showmax Original.

The cast includes Abigail Nepaul (41), Asharia Parsad (27), Christina Devraj (26), Devina Knowles (43), Kim Jones (33), Lenore Goss-Matjies (45), Neetasha Singh Bugwandin (36), and twins Losh and Resh Naidoo (45).

The ladies have been serving viewers opulence, motherhood, career goals and, of course, drama with 26-year-old new mother Christina at the forefront of all things spicy on the show.

The stay-at-home mom has been trending every week for her comments and interactions with the ladies.

Christina has viewers in a tug-of-war with their emotions over her ways, that include talking over everyone and over-sharing and her confusing timeline stories.

In the most recent episode, she gets into a disagreement with Lenore over her being in Miss India SA as a person of colour.

“When she invited me to her event, I accepted and as she spoke about being in Miss India SA, I commended her and asked her if, at the time, she had to work harder than the other contestants to prove that she deserved a seat at that table as I'm sure the Indian contestants would have had an advantage to win.

“Our disagreement came when she positioned us in a separate lounge in front of the cameras to have this sensitive conversation and went off topic to discuss her personal opinion of who I am,” explains Christina.

“The question I asked her was not to make her feel attacked in any way. I hoped she would educate those who want to enter Miss SA India or go for their dreams regardless of stereotypes or limitations like skin colour,” she clarified.

Christina has been very outspoken on the show, with her presence not going unnoticed by viewers and her fellow cast members.

“I think that whether or not the cast and I were best friends, we were all doing reality TV together and had to bring the spice.

“I had no choice but to be around them even if we did not see eye to eye. I don’t believe they should have been anything else than who they are. If it was all sugar, the show would not be interesting.”

On “The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice”, Christina has ruffling feathers. “My relationship with my fellow cast members flows organically.

“I came on to the show as the spice and it brought out personalities.”
