Our Perfect Wedding presenter search winner Kayise Ngqula is back from her break, after suddenly disappearing from our screens in April. She returns to the show that has made serious revamps on its look, but the much loved theme song still remains. Thank heavens.
On Sunday we went down to Ethwathwa, Daveyton, to witness the joining together of Monica Khumalo, 31, and Nhlonipho Simelane, 33. The couple's relationship is high school romance that dates back to 2003.
Two years later Monica fell pregnant, which subsequently caused a lot of problems with the families. "My mother didn't like it at first but now seems to accept it," said Nhlonipho.
Monica's father, on the other hand, kicked her out of their home in anger. "He said he couldn't have two grown women in his household. I think he had huge expectations of me," said Monica.
After Nhlonipho paid the damages, everything seemed to calm down within the families.
Years later, Nhlonipho proposed kasi style, hiding the engagement ring under the biscuits. Three years on, the couple decided to celebrate their love on national television.
They said their 'I Dos' in an outside set-up at the local park.
Monica walked down the aisle in her white gown that made her feel like Cinderella she said, while her hubby, waited in his beige suit. Their bridal party wore different shades of guava outfits on the day.
"She was very beautiful when walking down. I started reminiscing about everything we'd been through," said Nhlonipho.

The priest made us laugh when he didn't seem to know the couple's names while praying. He was excused though by Monica saying he is the chief priest and doesn't know them intimately. That didn't change the fact that it was hilarious.
The reception took place at the bride's family home, and their chosen colours were guava and white, with fresh flowers all around.
Kubalulekile ukuthi icouple yethu ibe happy, and @KayiseNgqula makes sure they are. ❤️ https://t.co/JGIgtexOZg #OurPerfectWedding pic.twitter.com/9G4ywIJrmY

On day two, the bride went to the groom's family to be welcomed into the Simelane home. It being a traditional wedding, one would expect the decor to be traditional right? Not this time around. The groom's mother requested for a more modern look as she isn't a fan of the browns that come with traditional themes.
As part of the culture, dancing before the bride is welcomed into the home was done. And the obvious paying of the fine was also part of the fun. After that, the bride was taken in for the elders to speak to her on how to behave in the marriage.
Although slightly tired, the Simelane’s give their wedding a high rating and agree that it was indeed perfect. https://t.co/EKnLZE70c1 #OurPerfectWedding pic.twitter.com/x59xe4ogxd

The gift exchange was also a part of this wonderful wedding ceremony. All in all, Monica rated her wedding 9/10 because there were things she requested that didn't happen. But that didn't deter them, it was their perfect perfect wedding.
