Diego Maradona caused a stir — and created a few classic memes on social media last week and now he’s blaming wine.

The Daily Mail reports that the soccer legend has insisted he is "fine' after being treated by medics during Argentina's World Cup game.

Medics were called in to check his pulse and the pics of him getting the impromptu check-up went viral.

Some soccer fans took to social media to express their concern about potential drug use after images appeared to show white powder residue on the glass of his VIP box where Maradona watched the match.

The soccer ace is having none of it and instead is blaming the wine for his health scare and not commenting on his erratic behaviour.

But the 57-year-old said on Tuesday that he had been affected by drinking white wine instead of his usual red and added: "I am fine.'
