Johannesburg - Toyota is adding value to its Corolla range with some new standard features.
The entry-level Esteem versions now feature Bluetooth connectivity as standard, along with steering-wheel mounted controls, while daytime running lights are now standard across the range too.
Moving further up the range, the Sprinter version gains Toyota's Display Audio touch-screen entertainment system, which is already fitted to Prestige and Exclusive models. The system also has a built-in reverse camera.
Nothing changes in terms of styling or mechanicals, with engine options comprising three normally aspirated petrol options, in the form of a 73kW 1.3, 90kW 1.6 and 103kW 1.8, and there a 1.4-litre turbodiesel eco-warrior delivering 66kW and 205Nm.
According to Toyota, the spec additions far outweigh the modest price increases, which - let's face it, are unavoidable given what the rand's doing these days. Depending on the model, the increases range from 0.5 percent to 1.3 percent. A five-year/90 000 km service plan remains part of the deal.
