The Fiat 500 might be considered one of the better modern retro creations and even though it has a 99kW Abarth flagship that rates high on the fun scale, the 500 is still more likely to be called a boutique hatch than a serious performance machine.

However, European tuner RF (Romeo Ferraris) plans to shatter your perceptions with its Cinquone Stradale, a street-legal variation of the Fiat 500 race car that it already produces.

Although full details have yet to be divulged, RF has disclosed that the Conquone Stradale is powered by a highly modified version of Fiat's 1.4-litre turbopetrol engine, shoving out 225kW.

Not to be mistaken for any other 500, the modified car is set apart by monstrous alloy wheels as well as a wide-body aero kit and bold rear diffuser.

Inside they've turfed out the back seats and installed a roll cage and two racing bucket seats, while carbonfibre trim and a mix of alcantara and leather ensures a racy ambience.
