Zarah Hector's life revolved around her two children. Kate-Lin was busy developing into a beautiful young woman and at just five years old Noah was a precocious little man. The support of her family made it possible for Zarah to work a demanding full-time job and have a bit of a social life. Between working shifts at the hotel, caring for her children and spending time with her boyfriend, Zarah's life was quite hectic at times.

A number of years ago Zarah made contact with a pastor in Kuils River and joined his congregation, getting her life in order so that she would one day have a church to be buried out of.

Nobody could guess that the pastor would be called upon to perform this duty while she was only 33; a young woman whose children needed her guidance.

Zarah went missing on March 14 last year with her boyfriend's BMW Z3. Her body was found in a shallow grave on a farm in Groot Drakenstein on March 24 - 10 days after she was reported missing. She was bludgeoned to death with a hammer - allegedly over a drug debt.

This week Renaldo van Rooyen and Tawfeeq Ebrahim were handed life sentences for her murder. Her family, however, now have the grim task of rebuilding their lives without the daughter, sister and mother they loved so dearly.

Zarah will never celebrate another Women's Month, birthday or Christmas with her family. She will never get to see her children grow up and achieve everything she believed they could. Zarah will never have the chance to see her own plans for her future realised.

For Zarah's sake and the sake of women everywhere, if you know somebody who has committed an act of violence against a woman Don't Look Away

If you know a young woman's life is in danger, Don't Look Away

If you are able to help prevent another tragedy, Don't Look Away
