Three people have been taken in for questioning following the death of former One Direction singer, Liam Payne.

Argentine daily newspaper, La Nacion, reported that an Argentine businessman, believed to be Payne's friend as well as a maintenance worker at the hotel the singer died at and an alleged drug dealer have been charged in relation to Payne's death on October 16.

The publication further reported that several properties have also been raided as part of police investigations.

The report states that Payne's autopsy results prompted police to investigate and identify those who had supplied him with drugs.

Last week, it was reported that toxicology and anatomical-pathologicial studies of blood and urine are being undertaken to determine any traces of drugs.

According to Bang Showbiz, police found a bottle of whiskey, a lighter, and a white powder in the room, as well as medications including clonazepam — which is used to treat epilepsy, panic disorders or involuntary muscle spasms — and energy pills.

Investigations continue.

Meanwhile, Payne's body has been flown back from Argentina to Britain for burial.

Bang Showbiz reported that the 31-year-old died after falling from the third-floor of the balcony of his suite as the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires.

He had been holidaying with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, whom he reportedly wanted to marry, at the time of death. He shared a son with Little Mix star, Cheryl Cole.
