Durban's Super Giants and MI Cape Town split the points after their match at Kingsmead on Tuesday was abandoned due to heavy rain.

DSG hoped to get back into the tournament with a victory after back-to-back defeats, but had to settle for a single point. The home team won the toss and chose to field first.

MICT's Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van de Dussen got off to a decent start of the league leaders. The pair scored almost 10 runs an over in the opening three overs, reaching 29/0. Seamer Junior Dala was the first to claim a wicket, removing Rickelton from the crease.

MICT reached 49/1 after the powerplay session.

DSG captain Keshav Mahajra grabbed the ball and tempted Reeza Hendricks into a sweep shot. Hendricks was caught on the boundary by Wiaan Mulder.

The last wicket to fall was Colin Ingram, who fell at the hands of DSG’s Mr Consistent, Noor Ahmed. Ingram tried to punish the Afghani spinner but was caught on the ropes by Brandon King.

By the 10th over, MICT had reached 62/3 with the rain increasing in volume. By the end of the 11th over, officials decided to suspend play. Around an hour later, the game was officially abandoned.

MICT walk away from the match second on the log, behind Paarl Royals, who have a match in hand with bot teams tied on 16 points. DSG are last in the standings on eight points, continuing a sombre season with three losses in six matches.
