AmaZulu FC head coach Pablo Franco has emphasised the need for “Ususthu” to start the new Betway Premiership season on a high.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based side have finished outside the top eight for two consecutive seasons however, the Spanish tactician is confident that he has the players to put up a strong showing this season.

“I think the first thing we need to do is try to start the season in a better way than we did last season because we know how important it is to collect points at the start of the season in terms of also building confidence so we avoid inconsistency.

“We know it’s going to be tough but we are also confident in our capacity. We know what we’re capable of and we learnt a lot from last season,” Franco said.

Franco also said “Usuthu” has built something that unique, adding that he wants to continue to build on the solid foundation they have laid.

“We built something that is starting to be unique and we want to continue building on those foundations.

“I’m really excited about my second season. We have huge expectations for this season,”Franco concluded.

A lot is expected from the Spanish tactician after club President Sandile Zungu said he want the club to return to continental football.
