Mpho Popps Modikoane, a South African comedian, has announced the postponement of his upcoming show in Cape Town. Originally scheduled for July 27 at the International Convention Centre, the show will now take place on November 30.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page, Popps cited unforeseen circumstances as the reason for the change. While he did not go into specific details, he assured fans that their tickets would remain valid for the new date.

"Important Announcement 🚨 Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mpho Popps’ show in Cape Town has been postponed to November 30th. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. Stay tuned for more updates," he wrote.

The announcement comes on the heels of a significant achievement for the comedian. He was recently honoured as Comedian of the Year at the 11th annual Savanna Comics' Choice Comedy Awards 2024.

This also highlights his impact and popularity on the comedy scene, making the postponement of his Cape Town show all the more disappointing for fans.

However, the rescheduled date offers a silver lining. Those who have purchased tickets will be able to attend the show in November, ensuring that they won’t miss out.

Earlier this year, Popps revealed that quitting alcohol two years ago and marrying the woman of his dreams, Latoya, were the best decisions of his life.

Popps and Latoya reconciled after separating and exchanged vows in a private wedding ceremony in 2023.
