Rising pop sensation, fashion creative, and mental-health activist, Ananya is enchanting music lovers once again with a stripped back version of one of her most popular songs.

The “i woke up one night” EP hitmaker, has just released an acoustic rendition of, “bad for you”. The song originally featured on her debut EP in 2023, which has since become an instant hit garnering over 750 000 streams.

This new version of the song gives listeners a more genuine and personal experience, exposing the song's emotional essence.

“I'm really lucky that ‘bad for you’ has been my best-performing song. It even begins with the title of the EP, so it’s a great representative of both me and my debut EP.

“Releasing the track as it sounded in the writing stages is especially meaningful,” shared the singer.

The acoustic version also features Amy Jaggs on piano.

Ananya described the studio session as “deeply personal and transformative”.

She shared: “It was a dream. I was deeply in touch with my feelings while recording, and it felt like everything had come full circle.”

She added that she felt more connected to the new version.

“It's how the song originally began. Some lyrics are sad and reveal painful truths. In the acoustic version, I think the me singing is very honest about those emotions, while in the original version, the me singing reflects having overcome the pain and feeling empowered to move forward. It’s special!”

Through this rendition, Ananya hopes to encourage listeners to feel powerful and in control even in the face of difficult truths.

“I hope listeners still feel empowered and strong, even when confronted with painful truths - but to be aware that it's important to take time to heal and face those emotions head-on. It's through this process that we become empowered to move on and let go.

“I'm emotional and deeply attached to this project; it has taught me so much in such a short time. I’m grateful more than anything, and excited for what’s to come,” she said.
