Grammy Award-winning Southern rock group, Zac Brown Band, is set to make their debut in South Africa this October. The band will headline the Cape Town Country Festival at DHL Stadium on October 27, marking their first live performance in the Mother City.

Formed in 2002, the band has become one of country music's most successful and beloved acts.

Frontman Zac Brown grew up in Georgia and developed a love for music early on, learning to play various instruments and performing in local venues. The band’s breakthrough came with their 2008 major-label debut album.

Since their debut, Zac Brown Band has released six consecutive albums that reached the top 10 of the Billboard 200.

Their success in the country music scene is unparalleled, with five consecutive albums debuting at #1 on Billboard's Country Albums chart.

The group has garnered three Grammy Awards, including the prestigious Best New Artist award in 2010.

Additionally, the band has sold over 30.5 million singles and 9.3 million albums, amassing more than 11.2 billion catalogue streams. They have also achieved 16 #1 radio singles, further solidifying their status as a powerhouse in both country and rock music.

Just to mention a few of their hits: “Chicken Fried” is one of Zac Brown Band's most iconic songs, often considered their signature hit. Released in 2008, the song celebrates simple pleasures such as fried chicken, cold beer, and the American way of life.

Its catchy, feel-good vibe quickly made it a fan favourite and a staple at their concerts. Interestingly, Brown and Wyatt Durrette wrote the song in 2003 and it was initially recorded by another artist before the band released their version.

Released in 2015, “Homegrown” is an upbeat track from the album “Jekyll + Hyde”. The song celebrates the joys of small-town life and the importance of community and roots.

Brown, the band's frontman, expressed his excitement about performing in South Africa, a country he holds dear.

“I absolutely love Africa and try to visit every year. We’re so excited that we get to perform at South Africa’s first-ever country music festival in October,” he shared.

The Cape Town Country Festival promises to be a landmark event, featuring an impressive line-up of artists including Zac Brown Band, Kip Moore, Darius Rucker, Cam, Brothers Osborne, Morgan Wade, James Johnston, Craig Morgan and many more.

In the lead-up to the festival, Zac Brown Band has released their latest single, “Tie Up”. This carefree anthem encourages listeners to kick back and relax with friends, perfectly capturing the band's signature blend of Southern rock and laid-back vibes.
