Kenyan and Mexican actress Lupita Nyong'o is in South Africa and visited her favourite fashion designer Thebe Magugu.

The “Black Panther” star who is a fashionista in her own right, has always supported Magugu by wearing his designs and this week, she visited his newly opened Joburg store, the Magugu House.

While doing her shopping, she was wearing Thebe Magugu and looked stylish in white wide-leg pants and the Thebe Magugu Heirloom Blouse that has emblazoned images of her grandmother, Dora Owino Amolo.

Fans of both Nyong'o and Magugu were impressed by the support the award-winning actress showed to the 2019 LVMH Prize winner because, in a recent interview with “Glamour”, she mentioned that she didn’t like shopping, just dressing up.

"I hate shopping. “I love red carpets. You get to be Cinderella for a night,” she told the gloss. “My life before the launch of my career did not involve a lot of ball gowns. Now I wear so many, and I love it.”

In other news,  Nyong'o recently publicised her support for Kenyans, who took to the streets to protest against the Finance Bill.

“I salute the Kenyan youth and I am grateful to them for coming together in an extraordinary way to stand up against the problematic Finance Bill 2024 as well as to defend and promote the democratic rights of the Kenyan people.

“I am extremely saddened that lives have been lost in the process and my thoughts are with the victims’ families.

“May the government of Kenya aim to peacefully unify the nation by hearing and addressing the concerns about bad governance that are rightfully being raised,” she wrote.
