Musician Rethabile Khumalo has expressed gratitude for the support shown by her fans as she continues to recuperate in the hospital after a reported poisoning incident.

Rethabile, the daughter of singer and songwriter Winnie Khumalo, was live on Instagram with her mother, where they shared her health status, revealing that she was getting better.

When the news broke out, Rethabile was admitted to hospital for a while, and once her condition worsened, she had to return.

Her condition also prompted her mother to also ask for Mzansi to pray for her daughter as she was fighting for her life.

“Greetings, I am still in hospital. I just want to thank you guys for the prayers. I don’t know what else to say. My mom was the one who said I should go live. Guys, please download my song ‘Egalile’,” Rethabile said on her recent live video.

When the incident happened, her mother shared the details on social media, revealing that she had undergone three surgeries already.

“I decided it was only fair to share with her supporters this sad news. They did three operations on her already. We are hoping that @rethabile_rsa will soon recover, but at the moment akukho kuhle (things are not looking well). She has been on and off. When you pray, please include her in your prayers," she wrote.

Winnie further disclosed that Rethabile’s health issue is due to one of her friends.

“I thought I would keep quiet until my daughter is okay. She’s fighting for her life. She is fighting for her life. She has been poisoned by a so-called friend.”

Scores of fans from various platforms have expressed their well wishes to the star, who announced her imminent return home.
