Lebanon is the country of my origin and as the current war rages on, the images I see on social media are so polar opposite to what I experienced just 2 weeks before these very recent events unfortunately unfolded.

A sunrise swim in the clear calm Mediterranean Sea sets the scene for another epic day in this beautiful country.
Nuts are grown and sold in Lebanon and exported world-wide. They are delicious and served everywhere one goes, without ordering. Hospitality is the pride of the Lebanese people.
The beauty of new Beirut is reminiscent of why it was always known as "the Paris of the Middle East".
The bubbly bubbly or Shisha as it is locally known is widely smoked by all adults as a form of relaxation . It is fruit flavoured tobacco.
Kibbeh Nayeh is the Lebanese national dish and is enjoyed all over the world by both Lebanese and discerning diners . It is handmade from processed lamb and wheat with spices and served ice cold with hot fresh flat bread and raw onion.
Colourful Vespas are seen all over Beirut streets and are a popular mode of transport for the young and young at heart.
Beautiful beaches and stunning views are everywhere to be enjoyed by everyone.
Intricate inlaid woodwork is an art form perfected by the local people.
Habibi is a term of endearment used by Lebanese and Middle Eastern people meaning " my dear / my love".
No one does shabby-chic quite as dignified and stylish as the Lebanese.
