An urgent application made by certain members of the Dr Joseph Shabalala Foundation to halt the “Lebo M Presents: African Icons Tribute Concert” was struck off the court roll with costs, allowing the landmark concert to proceed as planned.

The application sought to derail a concert staged to honour the late cultural giant, Dr Joseph Shabalala. Organisers Till Dawn Entertainment faced a tight timeline, as they were only served the application notice the same day, resulting in a last-minute response preparation.

After reconvening the court, the presiding Judge dismissed the urgent application, ruling against the Foundation and ordering them to pay the court costs, reaffirming the concert's viability and purpose.

Lebo M, the Executive Producer, expressed sadness over the attempt to sabotage the event. He affirmed that their efforts to honour Dr Shabalala were rooted in love, legacy, and respect, and that this legal victory reinforced their mission to celebrate the late musician's contributions.

The African Icons Tribute Concert is scheduled for September 24 at the Play House in Durban, the concert aims to unite communities, artists, and fans, creating a memorable night of music and cultural pride.
