Actress and DJ Pearl Thusi's daughter, Thando Mokoena, recently spoke about the special relationship she had with late rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes.
In a heartfelt interview with influencer Romeo Black on TikTok, Mokoena revealed that if she could bring anyone back to life, her first choice would be her "uncle Kiernan".
The award-winning rapper was assassinated in Durban on February 10, 2023, along with his chef friend Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane.

Mokoena shared that her bond with the "Run Jozi" hitmaker was strong, largely due to her mother's close friendship with him.
"My uncle, Kiernan, taught me a lot of things about religion and respect, and he was another type of father figure that I needed in my life," she said.
"Uncle Kiernan wasn't funny with me because he treated me like his daughter, so he was very serious."
Reflecting on AKA’s untimely death, she shared: "He needed to make more music, he had a lot more plans to execute and a lot more things to do in life, I feel."
When asked what she would say to him if she had the chance, Mokoena candidly responded: "That I appreciate them (referring to AKA and another late uncle, she referred to as just Law). I don't think I showed appreciation enough when they were still here, and it is something that I still have to deal with to this day. Like, I didn't appreciate them enough."
During the video, Mokoena also touched on growing up as the oldest child and how she felt about the differences in parenting between her and her younger sister, Okuhle Thusi.
"If you're the oldest child, you'll understand. Yoh! You kind of feel like your parents are cheating you in certain ways. Like you were not allowed to do this, or there were consequences if you did something and then your younger sibling was allowed to do those things.
"You feel like they're not parenting like they parented you.
"I feel like they got more comfortable, but at the same time, it's still their first time parenting. Children are different, so you have to be able to realise that, even when you're in a fight with them, you're like, okay, this is their first time dealing with this ... Also, try and have healthy communication with them (parents)."
When asked how she would approach parenting differently, Mokoena expressed her views on allowing children to make mistakes.
"I'd let them make mistakes. Parents always try and stop you from making the mistake that they made, but you don't understand that you're making a mistake until it's done.
"So, I guess letting them make their own mistakes, but at the same time, they don't want you to go through what they went through."
In another viral video, Mokoena admitted her struggles with discussing her feelings.
In the short video clip, Mokoena said: "I don't know how to talk about my feelings at all, it's tough ... Like it's human nature to suppress them, to keep going, if you dwell on them for too long, you're going to be stuck and life's going to keep going.
"You can't dwell on your feelings; you have to go to work."
Additionally, Mokoena shared that she is currently in her first public relationship.
"I'm in my first public relationship. I'm not someone who loves being in front of the camera like that. That's been a part of me growing up my entire life, so it's kind of hard for me.
"I don't know where the boundary is with posting my relationship, because that's also my private life and I don't want people using that against me or talking about it because it's my business, not yours."
