Rachel Kolisi is set to release a memoir in conjunction with her highly anticipated documentary, ‘Falling Forward’.
The memoir is co-authored with Zibu Sithole and published by Pan Macmillan South Africa.
The announcement was made on January 22 through a post shared on Instagram, where Kolisi expressed her excitement about the upcoming releases.
It is scheduled to hit the shelves in March 2026, aligning with the launch of the documentary.
“This book invites you to step beyond the screen and into the private moments that have shaped one of South Africa’s most beloved figures,” stated the publisher.
Kolisi shared her motivation for the memoir, saying, “There are stories you can tell on camera, and then there are the truths that need the quiet space of a page to be fully understood.”
In December, Kolisi revealed her plans for the documentary, which promises to be more than just a biography.
In a statement on her website, she elaborated on her vision for "Falling Forward".
“I have poured my heart into this journey, in the hopes that women everywhere can feel seen, heard, and connected,” she said.
The documentary will explore the defining seasons of her life, touching on themes of identity, loss, motherhood, and healing.
Importantly, it will not delve into her divorce from Springbok captain Siya Kolisi or the public speculation surrounding it. Instead, the focus will be on her internal evolution and the "quiet strength that has guided her forward".
She emphasised the importance of resilience, stating, “We all fall. But how we choose to move forward is what defines us.”
Kolisi hopes the documentary will encourage women to reflect on their own journeys, recognise their strength, and understand that forward motion often begins long before we feel ready.
The announcement of the memoir coincided with Kolisi celebrating her 36th birthday on January 21.
In a heartfelt post, she shared, “This morning, I woke up with these two verses on my heart: ‘Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning’ (Psalm 30:5) and ‘And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus’ (Philippians 4:7).
"I’ve found both to be true in ways I couldn’t have imagined a year ago. Thank you for all the beautiful messages. I’m feeling so ready and excited for year 36! ♥️”
