Renowned radio personality, voice-over artist and entrepreneur Xtremme DJ (born Xolani Mthombeni) has announced his departure from YFM, bringing an end to an 11-year tenure at the station.

Reflecting on his journey, Xtremme said: "YFM has been more than just a workplace; it has been my home and the foundation upon which I built my career. I am profoundly grateful for the 11 years of growth, laughter and music."

"I want to extend my sincere thanks to the YFM management for their belief in my vision and for providing a platform that allowed me to flourish not just as a broadcaster, but as a person."

He also expressed gratitude to his listeners and clients: "A special thank you to all my wonderful listeners who allowed me to be myself on-air and every time we interacted made me feel so close to them."

"To all the clients with whom I have worked on my shows throughout the years on campaigns, thank you for trusting me."

Listeners will have the chance to catch the DJ's final signature sign-off this month, marking the close of his chapter at the station.

While leaving the station behind the microphone, Xtremme is preparing for the next phase of his career.

As the founder of Xtreme Entertainment and Events, he will focus on expanding his business ventures while continuing his work as a broadcaster and connecting with his audience.

"Growth means opening up to new opportunities and challenging ventures to start new stories," Xtremme said.

"I am incredibly excited about the future. The journey doesn't end here; it simply takes a new, more ambitious direction. To my listeners: your support has been my fuel - thank you."

He reassured his audience that his presence will continue across other platforms: "To my loyal listeners, my extended family, when I put the mic down at Y, it will not mean the last time you hear my voice and interact with me."

"I promise that you will hear this voice in whichever format or platform that will be announced in due course."
