Y (formerly YFM) has officially pulled the curtain back on its 2026 roster, signalling a massive "level up" for youth culture.

Effective April 1, the station is shifting gears with a line-up described as "louder, sharper and more intentional."

"This line-up is a true reflection of where we are as a brand and where youth culture is going. We’re constantly evolving, constantly creating, and always looking for new ways to connect with our audience.

"2026 is about being louder, bolder, and more fearless than ever before. And Y NOT?" stated Y’s programme manager, Phindile Ziqubu.

Beyond the airwaves, the station is launching two digital-first shows as part of its "Beyond FM" strategy, specifically curated to capture the Gen-Z pulse.

Uncool MC will host "It’s an Uncool Show", offering an exclusive, deep-dive look into the Amapiano culture currently defining the global sound.

Media personality Lerai takes the helm of "Money Talks," a platform for bold, unfiltered dialogue regarding politics, finance and the socio-economic realities facing the next generation.

Meanwhile, mid-mornings will now be hosted by Karen Mthethwa, stepping in from 9am to 12pm with "The Glow Up". She takes over from Xtremme, a long-standing voice who has been part of Y for over a decade.

Weekday nights are also levelling up with media powerhouse Barbara 'Baxbara' Moagi and Tulz Madala co-hosting "Uncensored" from 8pm - 10pm. The takeover from Dimpho Makgotho, who hosted the show for the past 4 years.

"The duo will be pushing boundaries and taking conversations to the next level. Expect bold takes, unfiltered opinions, and undeniable unmatched chemistry," read a statement from the radio station.

Meanwhile, DJ Sliqe and Roiii are taking the reins every Sunday evening from 7pm to 10pm, and Munaka Muthambi will host "The Rizz" on Saturdays from 5pm to 6pm.
