Two-time Emmy Award winner Trevor Noah will be back in South Africa for the first South Africa Festival of Comedy, served by Savanna. A live comedy tour with a full line-up of the country’s best and emerging comedic talent is scheduled for September.
Noah last performed in South Africa in September 2023, during his "Savanna Presents Trevor Noah Live in South Africa" tour and now his relationship with the premium cider continues.
Noah has been announced as the Lead Curator and Captain of the SA National Team of Comedy and he has selected his Vice Captain, co-host of the “What Now” podcast Eugene Khoza, and Coach, sought-after stand-up comedian and MC, Ntosh Madlingozi.
Together, these hosts will announce more dates, venues and new signings, building anticipation for what promises to be a historic squad reveal.
Performances kick off in Pretoria (SunBet Arena: September 5, 2026) and Cape Town (GrandWest Casino: September 26, 2026).
“South Africa needs to laugh and with Savanna I’m bringing just the team to do it! Bafunny Bafunny is South Africa’s National Team of Comedy. 5 Shows, 3 Cities September 2026!
“I’ve got Eugene Khoza confirmed with many more local and international comedians to be announced,” Noah shared on Instagram.
Leading up to the festival Savanna and South Ahh’s National Team of Comedy will take the build-up to the festival on tour. Comedy lovers can expect press-conference energy, squad announcements and “call-ups”, behind-the-scenes content from the team’s training camp, and a steady stream of Savanna-served comedy.
In true Mzansi fashion, the laughs won’t stay on stage either, they will pop up where the people are: in the streets, on screens, and on timelines.
