French fashion designer Olivier Rousteing has announced the end of an iconic chapter between him and Balmain.

Rousteing, who was the luxury fashion brand's creative director, took to Instagram to announce the news Wednesday, October 5.

“Today marks the end of my Balmain era. Sixteen years ago, I began this Balmain adventure without knowing what the future would hold.

“What an extraordinary story it has been - a love story, a life story. None of it would ever have been possible without my chosen family, my team, the group and all the people who believed in me from the very beginning,” the fashion designer shared.

He further thanked everyone for their support throughout his career at Balmain.

“Like every story, this one also has an ending. Thank you for your support, your love, and for having lived, season after season, this beautiful Balmain journey with me.

“Thank you to Mayhoola for the support and for all the memories that will remain forever engraved in my mind. Thank you to my team, without whom none of these incredible adventures could have existed,” he continued.

Rousteing also reflected on his journey since he started working at Balmain and also shared that he is excited for the different adventure ahead of him as he embarks on a new era.

“I arrived at 24 with my eyes wide open and the determination to persevere, always.

"Today, I leave the House of Balmain with my eyes still wide open - open to the future and to the beautiful adventures ahead, adventures in which all of you will have a place. A new era, a new beginning, a new story. THANK YOU.”

During his time at the fashion house, Rousteing created iconic looks for Hollywood’s A-list celebrities such Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, Beyonce, Naomi Campbell and Rihanna which heavily influenced pop-culture.

He also worked with Doja Cat, Lindsay Lohan and remember that iconic sand dress that Tyla wore for the Met Gala last year? Well, that was all Rousteing work. Talk about iconic!

Let’s just say, it is highly unlikely that a celebrity will say they have never worked with Rousteing.

Many celebrities and fans flooded his comment section, thanking him for creating all those iconic looks that we all loved on the red carpet and wished him well on his new adventure.

Kim Kardashian wrote: “What a love story it has been! I love you and all of th magic you created at Balmain.”

“You are amazing and full of light. We cannot wait to see what you do next!!! Big hug,” Zoe Saldana shared.
