Johannesburg – Cocaine weighing 271kg with an estimated street value of R78 million was found at OR Tambo International Airport on Saturday, marking the biggest cocaine bust by customs officials in South Africa.
The South African Revenue Service said the narcotics en route from Sao Paulo in Brazil to Nairobi in Kenya were found in a cargo warehouse.
A shipment indicated as “cosmetics” on documentation was identified through customs profiling techniques.
