Durban – Eight people have sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate following a serious multiple vehicle collision on the N2 near the M7 Edwin Swales interchange this morning.

ALS Paramedics were dispatched to the scene after a truck allegedly collided with two other vehicles.

ALS said initial reports indicate that the truck allegedly veered across the centre median, colliding with vehicles on both the northbound and the southbound carriageway. One vehicle was left on its side.

Of the eight injured people, four were stabilised on the scene prior to being transported to a nearby hospital in Durban, while the other four patients declined hospital transportation and were treated on the scene of the accident.

ALS Paramedics’ media spokesperson, Rowen Scandroglio said: “There were eight people injured, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate, fortunately no fatalities have been reported,” said Scandroglio.

In a multiple vehicle crash on the R56 between Richmond and Baynesfield on Tuesday, one person was killed and several others were injured.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance (KZPA) said four vehicles: a minibus taxi, a light delivery vehicle and two cars, had been involved in the collision.
