Police have arrested two men in KwaZulu-Natal for allegedly dealing in drugs that are estimated to be worth R300,000.

The duo was apprehended on Thursday after members of the Provincial Drugs and Firearms Unit gathered information on them.

"We have arrested suspects aged 29 and 32 years old at Point for dealing in drugs," police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza said.

The 29-year-old was allegedly found in possession of 20 glass vials of cocaine powder while the 32-year-old was allegedly found with 4,200 pieces of rock cocaine, 300 capsules of heroin, 46 glass vials of heroin powder and 38 mandrax tablets.

Police first kept watch on the two suspects for some time, tracking their movements and gathering information about their alleged illegal activities.

Once they had enough evidence, officers carried out a sting operation to arrest them.

Both suspects have been charged with dealing in drugs and are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Friday, February 20.
