A former Legal Practice Council (LPC) administrator appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court where she was facing a charge for fraud.

Zuziwe Mahlulo, 36, from Centurion, was released on R1,500 bail.

National Prosecuting Authority regional spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said that between April and May 2024, Mahlulo allegedly amended board examination marks on the LPC examination system for candidate attorneys who had written the examinations.

"In May 2024, an IT specialist employed by the LPC, detected the alleged alterations and reported the matter internally, " said Mahanjana.

She added that Mahlulo was subsequently suspended from her duties in May 2025.

Following internal investigations, the matter was reported to the police, leading to her arrest at her residence on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

Mahanjana said that during her court appearance, the State did not oppose bail, as she was not considered a flight risk.

The matter was postponed to July 1, 2026, for further investigations.
