IN PICS: Mkhwanazi leads major Durban CBD crackdown on illegal guns and drugs

Police conducted raids in Durban on Friday night focusing on suspect raids, illegal immigrants, liquor outlets inspections and stop and searches, with the main focus of illegal firearms and drugs.

The Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, led a multidisciplinary operation on Friday night in the Durban CBD.

The raid took place in Dr Pixley kaSeme Street in the Point area of Durban.

Police said the operation, which was conducted with officials from the Department of Home Affairs as well as inspectors from the Department of Employment and Labour focussed on suspect raids, illegal immigrants, liquor outlets inspections and stop and searches, with the main focus of illegal firearms and drugs.
