Durban school closed due to gas leak, learners treated for breathing issues

Learners at a high school in Wentworth are being treated for breathing complications following a gas leak on Thursday morning

At least 20 learners have been treated for breathing issues following a gas leak in Wentworth, south of the Durban CBD, on Thursday morning. 

Garrity Jamieson from ALS Paramedics said emergency services and the eThekwini Municipality Fire Department is also in attendance at the school. 

Jamieson said the school has been evacuated and closed for the remainder of the day. 

He added that one of the learners suffered a seizure.
