SASSA grant payment dates for April 2026

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially released the social grant payment dates for April 2026, alongside vital increases for various grants that will benefit millions of South Africans. 

Payment dates for April 2026

• Older Person’s Grant: Thursday, April 2, 2026
• Disability Grant: Tuesday, April 7, 2026
• Children’s Grant: Wednesday, April 8, 2026

Grant increases effective April 2026

In addition to the payment schedule, beneficiaries will welcome various increases in grant amounts. These changes follow the national budget announcement by National Treasury, reflecting the government's commitment to social support:

• Older Persons, Disability, and Care Dependency Grants: Increased by R80 to R2,400
• War Veterans Grant: Increased to R2,420
• Foster Child Grant: Increased by R40 to R1,290
• Child Support Grant and Grant-In-Aid: Increased by R20 to R580
