The world’s most famous passenger ship, Queen Mary 2, returns to Durban for the fourth time this Saturday, arriving on schedule at 6am and leaving that afternoon at 6pm.
The ship will berth on the T-Jetty taking up O and O/P berths and will be best visible all day from Festival Island next to the maritime museum, which can be visited afterwards. It is also assumed that Transnet National Ports Authority will again make the base of the North Pier available to the public, seeing that the pier remains closed at this time, though no announcement has been made.
Visitors to the ship or alongside are not permitted. For coast watchers, south of Durban, keep a lookout from 7pm onwards.
