The popular Vortex trans party Phoenix Festival of Fire was held over the past weekend at Riviersonderend. Every year, more or less around the winter solstice, a Vortex gathering takes place. The destination is a forest, on a secluded farm, in the shadow of the picturesque Riviersonderend mountains.
The three day gathering is a celebration of the change of season, complete with bonfires and fire-dancers.
This year's festival took place from 23-25 June.
