The 2026 Raging Bull Awards lit up the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) last night as the investment industry gathered to honour the country’s top-performing unit trust funds. Marking its 30th anniversary, the ceremony has long been regarded as the “Oscars” of the investment world, offering prestige and credibility to managers and funds that consistently deliver for investors.

Alexander Forbes Investments took centre stage as it claimed the coveted South African Manager of the Year award, the highest honour of the evening. The accolade recognises excellence across a manager’s suite of funds, rewarding consistency, resilience, and performance in a competitive market. Alexander Forbes Investments' win underscores its ability to navigate shifting economic conditions while maintaining investor confidence.

The awards, first launched in 1996, have grown into one of the most respected fixtures on the financial services calendar. Over three decades, they have highlighted the evolution of South Africa’s collective investment schemes industry, from the early days of limited offerings to today’s diverse range of funds catering to different investor needs. Winners are determined through rigorous analysis, with data supplied by Iress and Apex to ensure transparency and independence in the selection process.

This year’s ceremony unfolded against a backdrop of global market volatility and local economic challenges, making the recognition of top performers all the more significant. Industry leaders, fund managers, and advisers gathered at the CTICC gala dinner to celebrate achievements that not only reflect strong returns but also disciplined risk management and long-term value creation.

The Raging Bull Awards have become more than just a celebration of performance; they are a benchmark for excellence and a reminder of the importance of investor trust. As the event enters its fourth decade, it continues to shine a spotlight on the role of collective investment schemes in helping South Africans build wealth and achieve financial security.

Dieketseng Maleke, personal finance editor, says: "Congratulations to all the winners of the 2026 Raging Bull Awards. Thirty years on, these awards remain a powerful marker of excellence in South Africa’s investment industry, and last night’s celebration at the CTICC showed just how much talent and resilience exist in the sector.

"Alexander Forbes Investments deserves special mention for taking home the Manager of the Year award, a recognition that speaks to consistency, discipline, and investor trust. The Raging Bulls are not just about numbers; they highlight the skill and commitment behind the funds that help South Africans grow and protect their wealth.

"Well done to every fund and manager recognised. Your achievements remind us that strong performance, transparency, and innovation are what keep this industry moving forward".

Here are the winning funds. Congratulations to the winners!
