The murder case of DJ Warras, born Warrick Stock, has been postponed to 9 February 2026 for address verification following the first court appearance of Armando Joaquin Pacula, a 25-year-old Mozambican national charged in connection with the killing.

Pacula, arrested at his residence in a crime intelligence-led operation after a tip-off, faces conspiracy to commit murder, murder, and contravention of the Immigration Act.

He appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's  Court on Monday and is expected to be joined by the first accused, Victor Mthethwa Majola (44), in upcoming proceedings.

“The accused is facing the charges of premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder and is also facing contravention of Section 49 of the Immigration Act because it’s illegal in the country. It is a schedule six offence, and therefore, at this stage, the state is opposing bail,” the magistrate said.

Both men are linked to the fatal shooting of DJ Warras outside the Zambesi Building in Johannesburg’s Central Business District on 16 December 2025, a case that has shaken Johannesburg’s music and entertainment community.

Pacula will remain in custody until the next court date, allowing the prosecution time to verify his residential address and complete necessary pre-trial procedures.

The case has highlighted concerns over targeted violent crime in Johannesburg’s CBD, particularly attacks involving well-known public figures. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information related to the case to come forward to assist with the investigation.
