Gerda Steyn won the women’s 56km race at the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town on Saturday.
Breaking away from Margaret Jepchumba around the marathon mark, Steyn stormed to victory, which was her seventh in a row in the race that she was once again the dominant force.
Jepchumba hung on to claim second place, but collapsed as she crossed the finish line just under six minutes behind the champion.
Nobukhosi Tshuma completed the podium, crossing the finish over 10 minutes after Steyn.
