Orlando Pirates defender Tapelo Xoki revealed the club will leave no stone unturned in ensuring they remain in contention for the Betway Premiership title this season, after a solid recent run of results.

The Buccaneers are currently top of the league standings with 51 points. However, their fate is not entirely in their hands, as they have second-placed and defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, breathing down their necks by one point. Moreover, the Brazilians also have a game in hand, which could have a massive impact on the championship battle.

While the odds and experience may not favour the Sea Robbers in the title race, as they seek to end their 14-year league trophy drought, Pirates have mounted a serious challenge, unlike in previous, recent seasons where they have fallen short.

Coach Abdeslam Oaddou’s prowess is credited for this resurgence.

The Moroccan has been able to put his squad depth to full use, while taking no prisoners regarding ill-discipline and form. His methods have created a demanding and rewarding environment that has pushed the team to achieve the impossible.

Xoki revealed the players are trusting the process, as they battle to remain in the title hunt.

“We’ve always given our all,” said Xoki, during the club’s official handover of the MTN8 Goals for Charity Funds Disbursement to the Zodwa Khoza Foundation in Diepkloof, on Wednesday afternoon.

"For us, it’s not to look on the outside; but on the processes within. We just need to follow those processes well."

“We are happy with the process that we are in at the moment: we have already won two trophies. So, we’ll push till the last game in the league.

“Hopefully, we’ll get over the line because that’s the one trophy that has eluded us over the years. We’ll give it our all to ensure that we win it.”
