The battle for survival is heating up in the Betway Premiership, with three clubs – Marumo Gallants, Orbit College, and Magesi – all at risk of losing their top-flight status with six games to go.

While it will take a collective effort, based on hard work, focus, and resilience, to consolidate their status, there are some individuals who could decide their fate. Below, we look at players who could be influential for their teams.

Marumo Gallants – Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo

Ndlondlo is back for a second spell at the club this season. Having gained experience at former club Orlando Pirates, as well as with the Bafana Bafana setup, he has led from the front.

The diminutive midfielder, who has a sharp eye for a pass and a knack for goals, has already helped the team reach the Carling Knockout final. But with their focus primarily on the league, he will need to ensure they preserve their status.

Orbit College – Bradley Ralani

After hanging up his boots last season following a spell in the National First Division, Ralani came out of retirement to bring his experience and help Orbit College keep their top-flight status.

After making six appearances and scoring six goals so far this season, Ralani hasn’t fully delivered on the mandate. However, his presence on and off the pitch could still prove vital for the club.

Magesi FC – Elvis Chipezeze

Arguably one of Zimbabwe’s best exports to the PSL, Chipezeze has endeared himself to local fans. While his exploits in goal speak for themselves, he has also shown a mischievous attitude to time-wasting that has made him a popular figure.

Chipezeze has arguably enjoyed his best football at Magesi, helping the team earn promotion before producing consecutive Player of the Match-winning performances en route to their Carling Knockout triumph last season. That’s why he won’t want the team to go down.
