HUNDREDS of mourners gathered at the River Range Ranch Temple in Verulam to pay their last respects to Vick Panday and Vasudeva Datta Das, two beloved community figures known for their service and devotion.

Despite the intense heat and crowded conditions, people came from far and wide to honour these men who had touched countless lives through their selfless service and kindness.

From midday, mourners streamed toward the hall for a final chance to honour the men many described as mentors, servants, and brothers.

Some clutched prayer beads, others umbrellas, but all carried the same heavy grief. As the coffins arrived, a hush fell over the crowd.

Panday was remembered as a tireless volunteer, a man whose presence and ready smile welcomed all who entered the temple.

Vasudevs Datta Das was celebrated as a calm humanitarian, known for his humility and unwavering devotion.

Speakers struggled to hold back tears as they spoke of kindnesses quietly given by both men who offered help no matter the circumstances.

Both funerals will leave the temple to Clare Estate Crematorium at 3pm.
